What is copy?

Copy refers to the written text used to sell, inform, or persuade, such as the words on your website, brochures, or capability statements. It’s the art of crafting messages that connect with your audience and help achieve your business goals.

Note: Copywriting is different from copyright, which is a legal term referring to the ownership rights of creative works. When I create copy for you, you receive copyright ownership so you can use the content as needed.

What types of writing do you specialise in?

I focus on SEO website copy, capability statements, and case studies for the construction industry. I also provide strategic marketing advice. My full range of services can be found on my Services page.

Do you meet clients face to face?

I rarely meet with clients face to face because I find that most projects are completed efficiently through phone, email, or video calls, saving you time and money.

How much lead time should I allow?

Lead times vary by project size and scheduling. Ideally, contact me 3–4 weeks before you need your copy to avoid disappointment. For urgent needs, ask about my Rush Service.

How much do you charge?

I usually work on a per-project fee basis, so you know your investment upfront with no hidden costs. If the scope changes, I’ll always inform you before proceeding. Refer to each service page for specific pricing information and packages.

Do you offer design services?

I offer design services for capability statements and websites through collaboration with trusted partners. Should you require other services like logo design or print signage, these can also be accommodated.

Do you upload content to websites?

No, I don’t handle uploading content to your website myself. Uploading and technical website management are best handled by your web designer or developer to avoid any risk of breaking your site.

If you choose my website design service, however, my design team will take care of content uploading and technical setup for you.

Can you take care of all my marketing?

I’m not a full-time marketing specialist or agency, so I don’t manage all aspects of your marketing. However, I can guide you, offer strategic advice, and create key marketing content tailored to your business needs. Please see my strategic Marketing Services to understand how I can help with planning and content creation as part of a broader strategy.

Do you use AI?

Yes, I use AI strategically — to support ideation, speed up research, and help with drafts. But it never replaces the two things that actually make copy work: understanding your brand and industry, and the judgement to know what's right, wrong, or just plain generic.

Every piece of AI-assisted work goes through me — someone who knows your brand voice, understands construction, and can sense-check, fact-check, and rewrite where needed. AI is a tool I use to work faster. It's not a replacement for expertise, and it's never the final word on what gets sent to you.

Can you write for industries outside construction?

Depending on availability and fit, I sometimes take on non-construction projects. If I can’t assist, I’ll try to refer you to someone suitable within my network.
